Although we live in a town, we get lots of hedgehogs in our garden.  They were still visiting during the first week of December last - and we saw one yesterday evening - 25 January - eating  from the cats dish.  It's been quite a mild winter here in East Anglia this year.  According to a hedgehog website, they do sometimes wake up from hibernation and feed in mild spells and then hibernate again when it turns cold.

Lovely pics Carol.  I see a hedgehog occasionally but now I come to think of it not as often as I used to.  I didn't know they were in danger of dying out, that is very very sad.

Carol, what lovely pictures, you are lucky  :) I've never seen any in my garden, would love to though. I didn't know they were in such trouble, how sad. I did email McDonalds re their stupid McFlurry lids as requested on the web somewhere, but I didn't know we're in danger of losing them  :'(

3 dead ones in our garden in the last month.

We normally hear them snuffling down the village road.
