Well, I'm one step closer to being an allotment owner! Yay! I spoke to my local lotty guy, and he's collecting rents where I want to go in 2 weeks, so I should know one way or t'other by the end of January. I know it's a bit foolish to get excited just yet, but I can't help it. I can almost smell the compost  :o

Fingers crossed!

Good luck!

I am almost certain that I have a plot now but there is still that lurking feeling that I might be celebrating too early and some horrid person will pop my bubble!  I will only breath again once I have signed that contract or got my keys!  But it is so hard not to just shout YIPEE!!!   :)

Yes, it is difficult not to become excited and even anxious at a time like this ... I hope it works out well ...

I signed up MONTHS ago, and I knew then that I wouldn't hear anything till January, coz that's when all the rents are collected, but me and my flatmate were so excited by the idea, we've already bought hundreds of seeds for things we cannot possibly grow in the back yard, so we'd better get one... ::)

hi bananagirl, you could, just to remind him of what he has to find out,
and ask him if you could look at the sites available to you, whill your there,  it will be a good chance to check out the soil, drainage,
how much you have to clear, find out if you can have a greenhouse, shed, compost heap or bins, water on site or butts, ect
hope your dream come true
