At the beginning of this year there were 3130 (approximately) registered members of A4A. Of these 1558 had posted a message, the rest had not. That is a difference of 1572

Of those who posted, 26% have blue eyes whereas 42% of those who didn't post had blue eyes.

On average, the top 126 posters use the letter 'l' almost 8% more often than the remaining posters.

50.1% of members post less often than the rest.

The most common time for non-posters to not post is 8.26 a.m.

There are 23 members who don't post almost 43% of the non-posts.

Based on figures from Nov 12th 2004 to Jan 2nd 2006, the average number of non-posts per day is 6.73.

i know on another board, they have a board called the newbinator. for all the newbies to post and sey hello.

Funny you should mention that, Eric.  When I was looking at the birthdays approaching, I had a look at each board member to see if they are still active (no point in wishing happy birthday to somebody who hasn't posted since 1957) and almost all of them had joined but NEVER posted.  Maybe a lot of people like to read all of the information/advice but care not to participate?

It's the same with any discussion site; a few people make most of the noise, and a lot just lurk. The quality of the site depends largely on whether the noisy vessels have anything in them.

Of the first 20 people to register(by date, all in April 2003) and to post at least one message, only one is still active, as far as I can see. That person posted yesterday (04. 01 06)
