We were given a wonderful 1kg Cornish Blue for Chrissy, and have only eaten approx a third of it.

Has anybody got any ideas for a soup recipe, or anything really to use it up coz is beginning to make the frdige rather smelly  :o

Thanks,  :)

Cook some veg - broc, cauli, carrott etc and fry mushrooms, onion, celery and other stuff that is going off in the fridge.  Meanwhile boil some pasta.  When the pasta is done put the hot veg and the hot pasta back in the pan and crumble in a big piece of stilton and a yogurt carton of double cream.  Mmmmm.
Get with the beat Baggy

We get given a full cheese every year. I work near Hartington cheese factory and this is thought of a traditional gift!

Anyway we eat some on crackers, make some into soup but the best use for it that we have found is Stilton and Leek quiche.

Very nice especially if you put some mushrooms on top (under the grated schemes).

We use our lottie leeks, onions and eggs so quite a cheap dish.

Let's face it.  Pasta and any cheese is yummy.  Oh has lactose intollerence so I have to be good or eat it for 2 days running if I cook it.

Chop and fry onions, courgettes, mixed peppers and mushrooms in a little oil.
Make a sauce from milk, small thingy of butter and cornflour, then add some stilton.  Add fresh ground pepper and a small pinch of cumin powder and some herbs.  Pour sauce over vegetables and keep warm on very low heat.  Cook some pasta with a small drop of oil in the water, drain through seive and put onto dinner plates.  Spoon the vegetables in cheese stilton sauce onto pasta and serve.

Ham or chopped bacon can be added to onions etc if desired.

Mrs Ava

Freeze it!  In portions, then throughout the year you can oik a lump out and cook with it when and when you desire!

A quick snack is stilton on toast. Toast spread with mango chutney, stilton on top & under the grill. It pongs a bit but is delicious.

flowerlady

A tasty starter to a meal:-

Take 2 large flat field mushrooms per person

Scatter crumbs of stilton onto their 'gills' , grind over black pepper,

And grill.

Sprinkle with chopped parsley.  Serve on fried bread croutons or hot buttered toast.

Yum  ;)

(Warning: Not too much stilton 'cos if too thick it oozes richness!!)

There's plenty more where that came from Pauline!  you can't say k n o b or
c o c k   or   f a g   You can get round the problem by inserting a space between the letters  ;D

;D :D :)

Thanks for that Flowerlady, sound yummy :)

But what would Mrs Beaton have said, for most recipes say a k n o b of butter.  It will be fun if we get a Chicken forum and I have anything to write about my c o c k who is called Wellington.   ;D  What I can't understand Wardy is why the word f a g is included in your list?  The only meaning I know to this word is cigarette!  Perhaps I have not been on A4A long enough to learn any other meaning!  The mind boggles!

Delilah

f a g has American connotations methinks

We get a half Stilton every Xmas. Peter sticks knitting needles in it and then pours in port. It gets covered with a wet muslin cloth and scraped off onto cheese biscuits.
