i grew peppers and aubergines on my plot for the first time this year.  i covered them with a really large cloche, and they did really well (and i live in the high peak)!!!  will definately be doing again this year!
It'll be better next year

I grew mine under cover and I got one tiny aubergine, also in Derbyshire  :)

That's it !  I'm giving up my allotments and going back to restoring antique Scotsmen  .... there's just no respect for highly intelligent, good looking weirdos on this website anymore  ... I've tried to fit in, God knows I have !  but all I ever get is  ..... well .... discussions about aubergines !   < .. rolls a green cigarette  ...

i´ve found over  decades of aubergine-growing: they are a lot easier to grow than tomatoes and never get diseased. i just don´t like them very much.
same goes for peppers and chillies.
