Be aware, be alert, be safe!    Just been told about three old scams doing the rounds to con people into thinking they are buying goods when they are not...

1.  Add loads of technical blurb hidden within which states "please note you are bidding for a picture of the item only".   eg with an x-box.
2.  At the bottom where you are used to seeing contact info etc - a statement saying "note you are bidding for the following e-mail addresses only
3.  My mother in law had an e-mail stating it was from e-bay and saying "please note your credit card details have expired, please follow the link to re-enter details".  Of course when she went direct to e-bay instead guess what, no message.

You have been warned!
Neil (The Young Ones) once said "You plant the seed, the seed grows, you harvest the seed....You plant the seed....."   if only it was that simple!!!

Yes I regularly get emails telling me an unauthorised transaction has been entered on my ebay account. That is interesting since I don't have one ...

Scam, Derek? Opened a tin of sardines last night - yuk, they were in tomato sauce!!

That's the only way to eat 'em, Tim.
I regularly get an E from both ebay and paypal asking for details or telling me my account needs updating. I don't have paypal. I always contact both ebay & paypal and send them the details they ask for on their complaints form and always get an E back confirming they didn't send E's to me.
It goes without saying you should NEVER answer an E which asks for ANY personal details, but DO inform the company they 'claim' to be as this is the best way to have it dealt with.

Its not just a E-bay and pay-pal scam.
Lately i have them from Barclays Bank, LLoyds Bank, TSB and the Yorkshire Bank all asking me to update my account information !!!!!!!

They have  been coming at around one a day  for the last week.

All i would say is don't respond to them and don't let them put you off E-Bay !!
