A ferl is a fowl  :)  People round ere keep ferls, it's easier to say than fowl.  Too lazy to enunciate vowels in these parts  :)

I spotted it early on, and had never heard the term before. Perhaps Lottie is just having a general problem with winged creatures, after all, she couldn't hit the penguin either  ;D ;D ;D
