cor blimey never knew it was so fiddly, still gradually getting there, I know how to make the pics a bit smaller now but still room for improvement. I still can't take a decent photo but at least you can see her ;)

So cute :)

Val

Hi folks couldn't get on here yesterday. She's nearly 9 weeks name is Lady and she's driving us mad. Its like having a baby in the house. Can't take her out yet...only in the garden but she's so much energy, another week to go, second lot of jabs then she's off on her first walk. Any hints about dog training gratefully received. ;D

She is a baby Val  :)   and a very beautiful one.

I came, I saw, I composted

Val

She's very intelligent too, she's learnt if she squats down when outside ..as in having a wee, she gets a biscuit, I'm sure half the time she isn't going, she makes me feel very stupid and she's so bossy. She's already got an answer to a sharp no. We didn't mean to get her I only went for some logs but she was sleeping outside and on concrete, I picked her up to get her warm, fatal, she was never put down again. The mum wouldn't let her near her only at night, so all day she was wandering around a concrete yard on her own, the other pups had all gone. She's well loved and warm now. She's got more toys than the kids ever had.

Beautiful. Another bundle of trouble, not much different from kids really ;D I have always hate it when I see dogs tied up..

Val

I hate dogs tied up outside too. Its not as if folk have to have dogs or have them by mistake. If you can't love them then leave them alone its just not fair on the poor animals. I'm not sure if Lady would have survived long, she was so still and cold...she more than makes up for it now ;D

Merlins Mum

Val, she looks a real little darling.
In my experience training can never start too early, and start as you mean to go on.  Not sure I would give her a biscuit for doing a wee, think it would be better to give her lots of praise and a cuddle maybe.
Are you asking for advice on getting her house trained or trained generally?
Anyway I'm sure you will never regret picking her up and bringing her home

BAGGY

Have you had a doggy before?  We trained our oaf by by telling him to 'be quick' when he went to do his biz.  Then piled on the praise he he complied.  I was always paranoid that my dad would over feed him so he wasn't allowed treats.  He just scrounged stuff when we weren't looking.  All our best efforts went to pot.

Sleeping outside, a baby like that  :o  Good grief  :)

I went babysitting once and the parents of the kids I was sitting for had a tiny pup tied up outside.  It was freezing.  I let it in as soon as they'd gone.  Why have dogs to treat them like that!  Guess what, it died on pneumonia  :'(

Not her fault of course, she said it was something it was born with.  She had more dogs than people have hot dinners!  None of em reigned long  >:(
Sounds like one of those stories you see on the news where they have loads of dogs and they are all neglected.  End up being prosecuted, fined and banned from keeping pets.  Personally think they should be tied up outside in January wearing just a pair of pants.

Baggy. Bella is also trained to "be quick" also "last wewee's".
She cannot stand the rain (far to girlie for that) so at night we tell her "last wewee's" throw her outside and shout "be quick" she squats, nothing happends, runs back inside ,upstairs to our bed, then look at us enough to say "go on then you go outside and check"
and they say dogs are stupid

Delilah

What an absolute little beauty :D

Am very please the snow didn't last long here because Meg(black lab) won't squat in the snow, and who can blame her , she looks at us with those big brown eyes saying "well! would you like to wee in the snow".

Consequently we end up having to clear a little patch of snow so she will go!!Bless! :)

She has also been trained to sit when we are waiting to cross the road to the park - but if the ground is wet she will only hover about 2 inches off the ground - tis very comical to see ;D
If you don't make mistakes, you'll never make anything!

Awww Val! She's beautiful!! For goodness sake don't let my kids see her!! Woudn't be able to say no! Am desperate for a dog, have my heart set on a choc lab, but haven't enough time or space at min, so trying to be responsbile, but when you show pics like that, is hard to resist!!

Delilah, Elsa runs round the garden when it is frosty(no snow yet) then gets as far as she can under the conifers where there is no frost . She then decides to squat!!!
