Pug ugly dog Sam is dead
A POOCH known as the world’s ugliest dog has died just days short of his 15th birthday.

Sam â€" a purebred Chinese Crested Hairless â€" was treated to limousine rides, TV appearances and even met millionaire Donald Trump thanks to his ugliness.

He had crooked teeth and a hairless body, with only a tuft on his head.

Sad owner Susie Lockheed said: “I’ve snuggled Sam under my blankets on my bed for six years.”

Susie â€" who had her pet put down after being told his heart was failing â€" added: “There’ll never be another Sam. Some people would think that’s a good thing.”

The dog became an international celebrity after winning the ugliest animal contest at the 2003 Sonoma-Marin Fair in California.

He retained the title for two years.
