Surely one should be able to up/download these for transmission by e-mail?

Photobucket doesn't seem to like them.

Might not be just Photobucket, Tim.  I have 2 ISPs (broadband and back-up dial up) and my e-mail accounts have different max file size: one is 2MB the other 5MB which affects both sending and receiving.  What file size are the digital camera videos?  I imagine quite large.

tim

Thanks for that, Jill. It says - typically - 2962KB = 15 seconds. So - ??

Love the rose.

The only success I have had sending videos Tim, is directly using MSN Messenger. But then I have only sent a couple to selected friends. If you are in this situation, then that may be the easiest method. A 30MB video, ie about 3 minutes of recording, took about an hour to transmit I think. Smaller files may only take a few seconds.

Just bought new camera to send with Daughter to the Gambia, and we have of course been playing! Sent a video clip to myself to see if I could, that came through fine, sent one to OH, his mailbox was too small to accept it at work, sent one to daughter who has hotmail, it wouldn't go there either!  Looks like it could be luck of the draw Tim.
We don't inherit the earth, we only borrow it from our children.

Just been playing . Sent a 7Mb - 3min - clip to myself. Took 6min to send, 4min to accept. Broadband.

Yet I have been unable to send a 30sec clip to family.

Jill

Decided to recheck and found terms have changed with both my ISPs.  My dialup now allows max message size of 5MB, sending or receiving, but mailbox held on the server is max 10MB (potentially only 2 large messages :( ).  My broadband allows messages up to 10MB and mailbox max 50MB on each of the five addresses I set up.

The mailbox limits don't affect me because I download automatically into Outlook every 10 mins via broadband, but it's a potential problem for anyone who uses webmail.

Which brings back to msn messenger or perhaps other messenging systems as well ...

By the way, Jill - what are the roses? They're lovely.

Jill

Tim, the rose is St Cecilia from David Austin http://www.davidaustinroses.com/english/.  Bought and planted in the spring this year and it produced lots of flowers over a long period.  I'm dead chuffed with it.  Lovely for cut flowers too.

why not use that free webspace that you get from your Internet Service Provider, then all you have to do is upload it, create a page which links to it and send the address to everyone  ;D
