i had one of those today! Went up the lottie, spent a few hours perspiring in the sunshine digging over beds and whatnot, kids were off doing there own thing, other half happy putting a bike shed together. Got back, pootled around in the garden doing things I have been meaning to do for ages, cleaned out the greenhouse, de-waterlilyed my pond. Watched the frogs, and dragonflies.........now about to climb into a lovely bath with a glass of chardonnay..oh and I don't even have to cook dinner as we are ordering out! Ahhh perfect!
Hope you all had as good a day as I, and are feeling as self rightous!  Dotty P.

So nice when it all starts to look like something.....I will have to post a photo of my new patch at the back of my lottie that I have found out is mine...brambles taller than me! I keep just looking at it! Hoping to tackle it over the winter.

we've decided to take the glasshouse down before it falls down so that's our project over the winter, hopefully we can use the beds that are inside it as cold frames while we save up for a new one..

having another perfect day today - it actually looks like an allotment!! :o

have onions in and some cabbages have appeared over the fence (must find the source to thank them). the area near the shed has been tidied a bit, fruit pruned, artichokes uncovered from under some brambles. its great!!!

now the weather is watering it all in nicely for me (i  managed to get home in time to get the washing in before it started)

have picked 7lb of tomatoes and been given a pumpkin - not a bad days work!!

now i have a pint of ale to accompany the reading of the sunday papers! bliss!

All in all, it's been a rather good weekend.  Yesterday we went to Crews Hill, the well known garden centre ghetto near Enfield.  The annual French Market was taking place, so I treated myself to some lovely, extremely anti-social cheese.

Today we planted the first shallot and onion sets for next year, picked enoug green tomatoes to make chutney and watched the fox up to no good on old Maria's plot.

Came home to a centrally heated house, and with bog all on telly tonight, I can check out the forums!

Add to that my boss quit on Friday - I may just cope with Monday ;D

good news about the boss then, can you send some of those vibes my way and maybe mine will leave too  ;D

hubby made green tomato chutney last weeek, yum. next job will be tons of pasta sauce base to freeze out of the red tomatoes...
