Er...sorry..nothing else really!! Just had lovely day! Sun shining, my lil 'ol man let me out unsupervised  :o, and even asked my opinion, which is unheard of!! Went to lottie, picked beans and butternuts, had groovy tunes on my MP3 player and out for drink tonight, and the cat wasn't sick for once.........nice day ;D

Glad you enjoyed lotty Lottie  ;D  Me too.  Dog couldn't p*ss on carpet as I took him to plot with me much to his annoyance  :)

It was a lovely morning and I got quite a bit of pottering done and had some good veggies to take home.  Bloke gave me a greenhouse which was a bonus.  Something else to stash behind the shed waiting for OH to galvanise himself into action  ;D  Another job waiting til the end of the season  :)

LOL!! Your "End of Season" List sounds like mine! Great news on greenhouse though.Trying to trick OH over to lottie this weekend....Can't come up with cunning plan at min, but give me time.......Glad dog didn't pee on carpet......... :-\ ;D

wardy

Suggest to him that someone wants to see him on plot to ask his advice about something.  Men are so vain he won't be able to resist  ;D

Hi Lottie! Hi Wardy!

I've been to the lottie too. I decided I would do some digging as opposed to doing the hard stuff like lifting flagstones  ::). I got off to a very slow start as had six hens on and around my spade. Didn't know it was so hard to dig when chooks are about. Anyway did quite a bit, kept thinking of the "today's haul" posts in the gallery and thought maybe I should post a pic of my wheelbarrowful. Yeah full of rubble, rusty things, plastic and glass. Ah well it is getting less and less and the lottie is looking better and better.  My flower man is going to give me some more flowers!  Woo hoo !  My back is breaking and now I'm finishing my cuppa before walking to school.

Yes it has been a good day!  :D

Don't you believe it Wardy  ;) I am just being a slimeball here and neglecting my plot at the moment. Spending all my time here, I have loads of pm's to send ... just who to send them to ...

Derekthefox ;)

varmints!

#8
Oh Heidi I'm so jealous of your varmints - I want some NOW  ;D  Have they got names yet?    They seem to like whatever it is you're digging up - worms, couch grass?  How many have you got?  So many questions, sorry, but it's really exciting  ;D

Go for it Dibs.  You'll have to do the wall (Great Escape music plays in background)  ;D
If you get caught you can say Wardy told you to do it  ;)

Phew, back from school. I was late, too busy faffing around on here!  ;D  Mr Johnston gave me a "you're late!" look in that teacher  way. Yah boo hiss to him though because my dad was a teacher and it doesn't work with me!! Tee hee!

Wardy I have six cheeky varmints. 3 black and 3 white. Yes they do have names. Betty, Blossom, Lilly, Tallulah ,Jessie and Jane. Though I'm beginning to wonder if Jane is a James the way she was on top of Betty this afternoon. :o :-[ :-\  The hens are really very funny. They recognise a spade at forty paces and come running up to seek for worms. I had them at my ankles before I'd even crossed the plot to where I wanted to dig. Like the pied piper of chickens.  Hilarious.Anyway digging was really slow because they have their heads stuck down the hole where the spade is. They stand on the spade. You can't turn it over because they are either on top of the spade or under it. you can't skim the top off the weeds because their feet are in the way. Humph! I keep going until they have their fill of worms or get bored or go off for a dust bath, then I try to do as much as I can before they come back!  Betty hangs out with me the most. She pecked my behind when I was down on my honkers doing something that didn't involve digging up worms.
Tallulah is the only one who isn't that bothered about worms, she likes one or two but she is more partial to woodlice.

My son walks about with various hens on his head and on his shoulders. Just wait til one poops on him!

I have never been inclined to have any livestock myself, but I can see the appeal with those pictures - excellent Heldi !

Awww Dibber ! Just hang in there, I can just see you in leather jacket and dusty goggles, sat on a wartime bike ...

Lovely chooks, Heidi! Like Wardy, despertate for some, but need to build fox proof run first.....Awww and Dibs, won't be long before you get yours, hun, I'm sure. Have you tried constant phoning and being annoying?Go go offices and chain yourself there til they give you a lottie, I'll join you, though best get out of party gear first............ ::)

wardy

Heids   Your chooks sound lovely, and so inquisitive.  They sound as if they're quite tame already  :)

Dibs       Ready for going over the wall yet ?

Heldi

Hi Wardy, Lottie, Derek and Dibbs!

Can't get my backside into gear this morning. First frost here last night. Have to get my pot bellied fig in. I scorched it with frost last year then scorched it with heat in the conservatoire this year. Poor thing.

I'll be off to do a bit more digging later, there's soil in that there allotment not just rubbish...amazing. Like seeing dry land after being at sea for months. Or seeing a ship after being stranded on an island for months...or..erm...can't think of anything else.

Dibbs I wish you lived by me cos the lottie next to mine is up for grabs. It has a chicken shed, two greenhouses and one has a heater !  I'm not interested in it only because I've done so much rubbish shifting I'd feel miffed to give it up to someone else. It would be great to have a nice neighbour though.

Ho hum...I'm gonna have another coffee...

wardy

I misread that Heidi!  I thought you were keeping a pot bellied pig in your conservatory.  Oooer  ;D   Like you kept it on plot til weather turned nasty then brought it indoors for winter.  Pooeee  ;D
I came, I saw, I composted

robkb

Hi Heldi, LURVE your chooks!  ;D Wish I could keep some, but they're not allowed on the lottie... Could try them at home but I'd like to stay on good terms with my neighbours!

Cheers,
Rob ;)

wardy i am in practise as we speak for scaling the wall just hopethe pullvault dont snap , ;D ;D ;D ;D

lottie i thought we could chain ourselves to the Jcb right in front of the lottie gates so no one can get in or out   ;D ;D ;D

Heldi

Wardy it's a one of these I've got. It doesn't say oink and it generally doesn't pong!  This one isn't mine tho' I pinched this pic .

Heldi

Hiya Rob!  Glad you like me henny pennies. Hey I'm sure you won't annoy your neighbours they really are little sweeties...they put themselves to bed and everything!  I fancy a cockeral but I fancy keeping it in the back garden. I'd train it to sit on the fence sunrise nearest the neighbour who keeps throwing stones at my cat. Wonder what they'd cocker doodle doo then ?!

I have this pic as my desktop...pinched it aswell. Handsome divil aint he!

wardy

My mate keeps chickens etc and her c o c k e r e l makes the loudest call - it's unbelieveable  :o  Makes your ears ring  :)
