I have tried these chillies for the first time, very impressed with the yield though they stubbornly refuse to go red and start the get a bit of mildew if left too long:

No idea how hot they are meant to be and I cant remember where I got the seeds. Any one grown them and know how hot they are?

Thanks

LOL!!! Not for me, Tim! I do have some spark of intelligence left! My OH loves hot food, and poor fool was saying that the chillies I grew this year weren't hot enough......thought I'd surprise him next year........bit evil I know, but there we go....gotta be done.   ;D ;D ;D

Oh Tim, I love my food and the home grown food makes it all the better. We will try these tonight and start with half a chille de-seeded and see how we go.

We do a regular recipie featuring chillies:

Chopped 3 or 4 cloves garlic, add to some good olive oil and cook gently for 5 mins, add chopped chillies to taste and cook for another 5 mins and then add fresh chopped tomatoes and some sun dried and a spoon of tomato chutney. Cook until toms are soft and serve on pasta with lots of parmesan cheese.

I will report back on the heat!

i turned some of my jalapeno style chillis into dried chilli flakes yesterday - just put the dried chillis (minus most seeds) int mini-whizzer and hey-presto super-hot seasoning. didn't think jalapenos meant to be that hot though... i made the fatal mistake of pinching my nose after i'd only washed my hands twice - first it tingled, then it glowed, my eyes watered until finally it throbbed, sizzled and scorched :o silly girl - looked like rudolph for rest of day, back to normal now though 8)

Jalapenos are 'mild' compared with some? But they are on the top edge for me!

And WHY do people never learn NOT to touch ANYTHING after doing chillies??

Well they were not as hot as expected, 2 whole de-seeded chillies needed to get the right amount of heat. Flavour was good though.

Friend of mine did the same as you Chloe, and spent the rest of the day wandering around with ice cubes stuck up her nose ;D
I always wear rubber gloves when handling chillies since then!!

Jerry they look good!

I got chili in my eyes once when I was at college. Never again! I cook them seeds and all, you don't need quite so much if you do that.

Thanks for that, Jerry, will try the next level up for him..... ;D Lottie
