Garlic you can plant now. You can sow lettuce, carrots, beetroot, spring onions (all the time), might be a bit late for peas but I'd have a go, courgettes. Lots of things.
If you look through the pages of this Basics section, there is some good info.

thats great thanks
had a good look around everywhere over the weekend and the range of seed available at the moment is really low - any tips on where to go to pick up seed?

last week wyevale were selling seeds at half price.

Also internet seed companies sell all year around.

Winter spinach a good bet for sowing now.

How strange I have only just copied this from my Organic gardening book as a reminder for me to purchase peas for winter and beyond. ;D

Must be your lucky day, ;) oh! And welcome aboard. ;D

Peas

First Earlies.       Sow mid-to late autumn.

Second Earlies.   Sow late winter-to early spring.

Main Crop.          Sow early spring to-mid-summer.

First Earlies.  ‘Feltham First’ A vigorous grower suitable for autumn sowing.

‘Meteor’   Compact plants which produce heavy yields.

Second Earlies and maincrop

‘Alderman’ a tall variety with large pods. A high yielder, but needs support.

‘Onward’ Large peas with a superb flavour. Crops heavily and has a good disease resistance.
