Hello all
Not sure of the best place to post this, so sorry if it is the wrong place.

I don't have an allotment of my own, but a neighbour is letting me use some of theirs, so I can grow some potatoes, carrots, onions and lettuce.
They are also kind enough to let me learn about the internet on thier computer, as I dont have my own at the moment. So much to remember!
Anyway, this site looks amazing, you all are such wonderful gardeners!, sure I will learn loads.

Enough for now
Sandy

Hi SandyF    Good to hear you've got some growing room - I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself.  Don't lose that thought  :)   It's got to be fun!  I went to see me relatives the other day at their new old folks bungalow and they are sharing their veggie plot with next door neighbours.  Seems like a very sensible idea to me.  Half the work for a start  ;D
I came, I saw, I composted

Hello Sandy, congratulations and welcome!

I know you will find this site a mine of information, and everyone is so helpful and friendly. We have lots of laughs too as you will notice when you scour the message boards. Without doubt this has to be the best site on the internet!

There is so much here, take your time to wander around.
There is also a chatroom, we have a giggle in there most nights, you will be very welcome, not like in 'some' chatrooms.

Nice that you have access to a plot, soon you will be growing massive quantities of all sorts of things. Are you enjoying any produce yet?

Prattling on here, enjoy yourself!

Hi Sandy and Welcome!!!  ;D ;D ;D  Agree with what the others have said.  I'm also a newbie, as only got my plot end of May, and have found this side so friendly and helpful.  People are always willing to offer help and like DTF said, we do have a larf!  Enjoy (the forum and your plot  :) )

Ok first things first, have changed my name to SandyA, been advised that my original login name, which is my true name, would appear in chatroom, was told a no-no for chatrooms.
I have asked your administrator Dan to do any changes if needed.

Second, thankyou all for being so friendly, didnt imagine this site would be so good. May I ask, Derekthfox, are you Spanish, cos you look like it in your pic?

Only had a few pots of my patch, they were gorgeous! (better than chocolate!).
I need to spend some time just finding my way around, need a street map in here!

Apologies for name change (I feel shamed!) and thank you all again!

welcome aboard sandy , i am sure u will find everyone very helpfull and friendly, some are a bit mad mentioning no names, hope you enjoy this site as much as i do as it is great site the best

Derekthefox

You are correct Dibber, it is the best site, guess I fit in with the mad label too!

No Sandy, I am not Spanish, although with my olive skin many have though so. Guess it is the guitar and reference to sangria? Well I adore sangria, only topped by my love of classical and Spanish guitar, being an amateur player. I hope that gives you an adequate picture.  :D

Not so sure about that bit  ;D  Welcome aboard - everything else you said definitely true.  I am in my first year.  My number of posts will tell you how useful (and fun) this site can be.  They are also forgiving of the occasional faux pas which is very useful in my case.
