No, I know, it is pumpkins, only it's what my grandson calls them...   ::)
Anyway, I've got TWO growing, (out of 4 plants!) and I read somewhere else that - I think it was Wardy - put some membrane under them.... I have been worried in case they rot, what should I put under?  I don't have any membrane!  Or any brain left for that matter....  :(

wardy

A plate, a stone, a bit of carpet, some straw.  Just something to keep them off the floor where they might rot  :)  I've used a can of John Smiths but put some slug pellets in it too so it has a dual purpose  ;D

Mine on sheet mulch are ok I think - it's the ones resting on soil and manure I've raised up off the ground.  One balancing on a John Smith's can and one on a tripod, oh and another reclining on a cardboard box.  I just want to keep them off too damp ground so the slugs aren't attracted  :)
