quite an impressive fruit cage (?) you have there - any tips on how/where to scrounge some of the netting? i wouldn't fancy buying that amount

Hi svea, yup was quite expensive, but can use it again, and again. I hope, so treated the expense as a sensible investment.

Wilco, Focus, Roys, all cheap and about same price. Did get two really good bargains on ebay!

Metal poles were on the site when I took it on, belong to Farmer Barry, he let me use them. They have a loop at the top are about 8ft tall and I just hammered them in. Old runner bean sticks were used at the top. All held together with cable ties, £2.99 for 200.

Sad thing is I have some club root at the top end of the cage so lost all the caulis. Sprouts and broccoli are doing ok.

Barry is helping me eat the veg!

Piglottie

Looking wonderful!  Gives hope to us newbies  ;D, that we can reach the promise land of vegetables instead of weeds, of harvesting instead of digging!  Makes all that hard work worth it.  Thanks for sharing  ;D
