I agree with that.  My exact words to wofey were "Wow, look at this flower - its stunning".   Far better than my slug munched efforts.  What a great result.  You must be well chuffed!
Neil (The Young Ones) once said "You plant the seed, the seed grows, you harvest the seed....You plant the seed....."   if only it was that simple!!!

Simply adore that first one.  Do you grow them from tubers which you dig up each year?  I have grown dahlias for the first time ever this year. from seed, which I just flung in a pot, and when they had germinated, plonked in the ground!  They are flowering their little heads off, but I don't know what to do with them next!

all my dahlias are grown from tubers.
the ones in the pics are grown in pots & i'll lift those & overwinter in vermiculite.
i've put some in the ground this year & i've not decided yet whether to lift or let them take their chances :-\

Cor GW lovely.

Mine are from seed, some doing better than others. No flowers yet, but lots of buds. Hope they are 1/2 as good as yours. They have not liked the cold start, dry periods, but looking happpier now we have had some good rain.

Will take up your tip on storing in vermiculite, sounds better than peat. TA
Supernan!!
