Hi Every one.

I am trying to locate a good Free or cheap supply of Horse , Cow manure. I need 10 ton plus.

Can any one help .

I can pick it up from the Chester / North Wales area.

Ideally the farmer / stable would have a jcb to load as I was going to hire a 7 ton tipper. But if the farmer / stables where able to deliver even better.

Many thanks

Alan

I got a load of cow manure but it is very dry and heavy to shift.  I had to chip away at it and it nearly killed me, delicate little flower that I am  :)  The horse poop is easier to handle but it does contain more weed seeds.  I put it in my daleks so it heats up and hopefully the weeds seeds will be killed off  :)

Your local stables are usually only too pleased to get rid of it  :)

Alan - ask around your allotment site.  I'm new to our site and I asked around re: manure and there is a farmer a lot of the plot holders use, but he does charge - £20 for a (very large!) load delivered direct to your plot.  Also, some farms near us let you have manure for free if you collect it yourself so I'd just ask around or look out for signs outside farms.

Miers - not sure where you're based but if you're anywhere in the East Yorkshire area I can give you some contacts.

Piglottie,
I'm not Miers, but wonder if your contacts are as far west as York?
