Despite not having extra water, things seem to be doing okay!  Will recommend the pea 'Alderman' as not only did I pick a good bowl full today, the plants are now 6 foot tall and smothered in pods!  Multiveg, as you can see, a little picking of purple mange tout, very  welcome! A few little broadbeans - I am officially giving up growing these as the birds and mice make a meal of them long before I can!   Berries are just starting so a couple of rasps and a few redcurrants, just to accompany my strawbs and cream tonite  ;D.  Rocket spuds are great, altho not many to a plant, but that lot was only from 2 plants, so not bad in the great scheme of things.  They have never had any extra water.  :'(  Cucumber, and a few courgettes.  And what on earth happened to that last one!?!  That WILL be the final picking of rhubarb.  I think strawb and rhubarb jam will be in the making, or rhubarb and plum as I have a carrier bag full of plums in the freezer from last year!  :o  Lettuce are going great, although the green frilly ones are just begining to bolt.

when did you put your courgettes out?
gone to pot :D

Courgettes went out way back when........April I seem to recall.  Needed to get them out before we went on holiday.  It was early, but as you can see, they are doing very well.  Am picking about 5 a week now!  I have been much more aware of continuous cropping this year, so have planted things out in dribs and drabs, hoping to harvest almost constantly throughout the year, so have lettuce seedlings right through to lettuce giants.  Peas which are ready for picking now, peas just starting to pod up and pea seedlings.  Big beetroots, and seedlings just germinating now thanks to the rain.  And the same with my courgettes.  I have about 8 plants in full production now, but another 2 which are only small and will hopefully drag the season into autumn.

Great harvests you two.  We had an exploratory dig of our Charlotte pots yesterday but a bit small yet, though the few we dug up tasted delicious - can't wait for when they are properly grown. Strawberries red and juicy and raspberries just starting to ripen, as are red and black currants and goosberries going nicely red.  Our Japanese onions are brilliant and the garlic looks good to.  Way behind up North in comparison but looking forward to the goodies yet to come.  :) busy_lizzie
