During the summer do people leave the greenhouse door open or closed during the night?  My friend leaves hers closed all the while, whilst I leave my open.  Which in your opinions is the better method.

Left ours open for last month. Same with polytunnel

The door only gets closed if the forecast is for temperature to fall below 8C. Hopefully another few weeks yet.

I suppose it depends on what you are growing in the greenhouse and how you want to control the humidity as well as temperature. I've got some missing panes of glass in my greenhouse but that doesn't seem to bother the tomato plants.

I'd say open as long as you can ... insects are very important with some things like normal cucumbers (not the all hybrid female ones) - and the more that can get in and out the better while fruits are setting.

Yep, as all above, open most of the time. I shut it one night last week when the wind got a bit strong and the temp dipped.
Kind regards

I shut the door for the night..don't want cats/fox to wonder in..but all the vents and windows are left open.
Last few days the night time temperatures been bit lower so everything gets shut and nothing opened again until sun is warming indoors again.
I only got few automated vent openers so I keep them as indicators..when they are 'moving' I'll do rest of the openings manually.

Door always closed, day &night, its not just cats& foxes here, its ducks, chickens, ponies, and until recently goat! The compensating factor is a natty sliding window and extra fanlights, all at 6' above the yard
