[
wonder if it worked looks ok not something I see every day.
he came up to the conservotory door trying to get in I gave him some bird seed and he went to visit my hens at the bottom of the garden.
He was very interested in them they could not work him out,
We do have a local park nearby and birds do escape had peahens before on the roof the joys of villiage life.
Oh yes think it is a Golden Phesent male his colours were beautiful got him as a screen saver now

According to the RSPB " It is a shy bird, keeping to dark, dense woodland."  So you are extremely lucky to have it visit your garden teresa! I didn't know they were actually out there in the wild. I've only ever seen them in captivity. Originally from China.

He's lovely  Smiley
I see plenty of the normal pheasants! There is one that roams the field that I can see from my work window - I swear he is as big and round as a football  Grin
Also see a few when I go jogging near Blenheim Palace of an evening  Smiley

Ha ha Roy you would not get much meat on him,( I have had Peahens on my roof now thats meat for you.) his body was  about the size of a bantum.
We think he escaped from the local park he was not ringed and yes I did try to persuade him to go into my shed but he was not haveing it Pity.
You can buy them as sets a couple of hens and a c*ck for breeding but the space you would need and they are tricky to breed.
But he made my day think he enjoyed it put bird seed and water out for him and a choc biscuite well who would not.
Glad you all enjoyed him
