I have a sort of covered lean-to between my shed and my makeshift greenhouse at the allotment. As I don't use this greenhouse until the toms are ready to go into it, I had not opened the door until this morning, at which point I realised there was a nest above the door in the corner. It looked as if it had been there a long time and there were no eggs in it, but since I was going in and out until September last year, I assume it must be a new one? Is there any way I can move it, and what sort of bird might it be?

Without actually seeing one..it is so difficult to say what bird you have had doing it..there is no point moving it unless it is in your way..often birds build up more than just one nest before deciding which one to use..some birds seem to raise they young in silly places that you and I would not imagine them to choose..
So if it is not bother for you..just leave nature to take is course..

Its probably a  wrens or robins nest which would be small. If you move it the bird will build some where else the only way to find out if it is in use is to check regular for the for the bird to be in there.

Thanks. I think I'll have to move it as I can't get into my greenhouse otherwise. I feel bad to think it might belong to the friendly robin on my plot. Sad
