It was my daughter's 18th! I ended up feeding an army of youngsters before dispatching them to a night club! My family and guests licked their plates clean. Hurrah for my allotment!!

A really colourful day  Smiley ; yellow, green, purple, red and dapples.

Browsed blackberries on the plot.  Never had time to fight back the neighbouring plot this year so there's a good crop.

A bowl of little yellow Millefleur toms alongside one of Mouse Melons before dinner

Dinner...
Cosse Violette purple French (my absolute fav.)
Yellow summer crooknecks
A mix of potatoes; Belle de Fontenay, Red Duke of York and Mayan Twighlight
A lone tennis ball size kamo kamo squash cooked in the traditional Maori fashion - boiled whole, cut open and the flesh scooped out.

Just now we are limited to courgettes by the ton, a few strawberries, the last rhubarb, the second early potatoes and some French beans. But the tomatoes are starting to ripen too! at last! and the sweet peppers have all tiny fruit on them (hope they are still there when I am back from holidays end of AUgust !) and the aubergines finally have flowers - they were great last year but this one pretty hopeless.

From drought to flooding rain, this year has seen it all. Tomato blight and voles caused tears, bumper onions, beans and pumpkins gave cheers. Follow an English allotment in urban France: http://roos-and-camembert.blogspot.com
