LOOK What Hubby Made Me Today

This is what my dear hubby made me today. A lovely coldframe. I'm delighted with it. Andddddddd he said he will make me another, perhaps tomorrow 
I will keep the coldframe at home for the winter, but take it to my allotment in the spring. It's all treated wood, and I haven't decided if I should paint/stain the outside yet or not.

Total Cost
Treated wood we already had from another job.
Bought two hinges, box of screws and a hasp and staple for keeping it closed = £ 10.00. (Our local DIY store likes to round everything down to the nearest pound. I think they make the prices up  )

I think for £10.00 and a couple of hours work (I assisted  ). Three cups of tea for hubby. I'm sure I have a bargain

how quickly can he make them, he's got lots of envious people on here

Well this one took three hours, but he didn't have a plan to follow and made it up as he went along. We haven't seen one close up so had no idea how high the front and back should be. We just measured my cabbage plants for reference.

It's 4ft by 21" approx, made that size because it fit the perspex pieces we already had. Four 2x1 in the front and six high in the back.

Ooops Lorna I forgot the toast for 2nd breakfast and the pot roast I made him for lunch

Does he do orders? I've made some "coffins" myself but you can't have too many frames!

I'm now the proud owner of TWO NEW COLDFRAMES. 
Hubby got so into it and enjoyed making it so much he made me the second one today. 
I'm a lucky lucky girl

LOL, Just kidding!  I wonder how I can get my hubby to suddenly aquire the necessary skills to do that too?

Suzi if your hubby can use a hammer or a drill, and a tape measure I'm sure he could make one.

Thats a mighty fine looking cold frame and I am sure will get plenty of use.

We made one using an old hardwood window frame as the lid and old scaffolding planks as the sides. An off cut of polytunnel plastic was used to cover the frame.

Old pallets make a good substitute for the scaffold boards.
