Hello,
Bit of a beginner to all this (this site and growing veg!) and have a rather overgrown / carpeted allotment. We haven't done too badly this year - tidied up a bit and got some beans, beetroot, carrots and spuds from it. Just wondered if there is anything we can plant out around now ish? I read that we can do some garlic and maybe some brocolli but can't find anywhere that says which type? Oh - and possibly peas? Could anyone point me in a good direction or let me know? What are you all planting at the moment (if anything?)

Cheers
Moose

Japanese onion sets can be planted now.  I have also sowed some Hispi cabbage under glass at home (in the kitchen in my case) and when big enough to pot on will go into a coldframe on the lotty and then planted out.  I can't find me instructions at the mo but I got the seed from Fothergills.  I have also sown some lambs lettuce (you can do that straight into the lotty)

If you get a Fothergills catalogue and look through it you'll find all the sowing times.  I find Fothergills are better than most for that.  I have loads of seed catalogues but none seem to do that or are a bit vague about sowing times.

Garlic can go in now and it's for sale via various seed catalogues (most of whom are on line too).  Read through previous posts on this subject for more ideas  :)

thanks for those - shall investigate the Fothergills site and look out for garlic and peas (haven't heard of some of those fbgrifter - need to learn a lot more I think!)

Get yourself a packet of mixed chinese leaves as posted by grifter.  Lovely and easy to grow.  I know it's supposed to be late but I've risked it and sown just a small amount as it's been quite sunny and warm this week  :)
