You're absolutely right Roy. The G8 'invasion' is meant to raise conciousness rather than money. Bob Geldof was very emphatic about this.
Pity he wasn't so emphatic about putting 'not for resale' on the concert tickets in order to re-inforce the point.

:( Well I think that is a lesson learned for another time, if there will ever be one :(. I salute the man and his supporters for the time and effort put into this crusade.

I doubt it ever having the same impact in another 20 years time headed with big stars like Crazy Frog. ;D

It is on the back of the tickets.  It's on the back of all concert tickets but people take absolutely no notice of it when it comes to re-selling for big bucks on sites such as eBay.

And tickets are now being sold by Get Live from £349 each including accomodation. You will only find out about this if you are a previous customer of theirs, its not advertised on the website. (I wonder why?) All proceeds go to Live 8. What Live 8 does with the money once they recieve it is another matter entirely. It makes all the pontificating about people daring to sell tickets on ebay a touch hypocritical.
