I don't think we should go down the root of making out it is  kids who are the rude ones. I personnally think it is far more prevalent in older generations unfortunately.

There are loads of jolly decent kids about but they do not receive any mention because of the few who spoil it for them.  Whilst we go on and on about how bad things are today....I remember things such as football hooligans in the 70's.

Why do we dwell on the negative? Why don't we start to give the decent folk a mention and ignore the rude rotters, afterall they are purely small minded attention seekers. We know this, so why do we let them get under our skin?!

Having said all that. I can't stand rudeness,I find it upsetting but I need to let it go and see those people for the fools they are and tell myself everyone else probably thinks the same way about them.

I think a great many of them learn it from their parents. There are always families who do nothing but swear, and even the politer ones sometimes have the most appalling attitudes simmering away underneath. The kids don't have the sophistication to disguise it.

I agree with you Heldi - I found an old newspaper under some floorboards the other day from 1975 and almost every story was about 'hooliganism' and teenagers mugging, attacking and generally being pretty unpleasant.  Sound like todays papers?  And of course thouse hooligans are todays parents of teenagers...... and so it goes on.

On the other hand just recently I have come across several lovely young people in our village who have gone out of their way to help me and have been very polite.

I doubt very much that those 'Rude people' will remember the people they are rude to, they just move onto the next person.  So don't waste your energy/pain and anger on them, it's their conscience that they have to restle with.  We on the other hand will RISE ABOVE IT ALL, because we are better than them.

Here's to the NICE people. ;) ;) ;)
