does anyone know whether its 1) too late to plant some briza maxima seeds 2) whether you can successfully plant these in small pots/modules and then plant out into the final site? I know you're normally meant to sow these directly in situ, and normally earlier in the season, but being busy with all the veg, these have unfortunately been left till I managed to get the other stuff underway... also the site earmarked for these needs some work, so I thought I could maybe catchup in time a bit by sowing these in pots in the mini greenhouse and then planting out when I'lve been able to work the site in properly. Any thoughts? thx!!  :D

I started some in modules in Spring 2004. Planted them out when the space was ready. They self sowed in the autumn and came up over the winter/spring. They are flowering again right now.

It might be worth waiting until the autumn now to sow yours for next year.

But if you have a lot of seed, you could try some now and some in the autumn. You won't need to save any seed for next year as they do all that for you!
gone to pot :D
