Allotments 4 All

The top half shows the size of the plant, the flowers are about 3 mm across, (big and blousy they ain't). The bottom bit is as good as my camera can manage.
Came as Nectaroscordium miniata, but no such plant and anyway Nectaroscordium is an Allium relative and big. Miniata means red-coloured in Latin, so even that part of the name is wrong.

Aconites?  ???

Is it golden garlic? I know the stems usually carry more flowers but as it is in a pot it might be stunted, 'allium moly' A  bit of a holigan if I remember right.

:) Does it smell of garlic??  ???  I have something similar but it does have a strong garlic smell. ;D  Can't remember what it's called. Have the name somewhere will have a look & post it ;D

Not A. moly, leaves are wrong for a start (moly leaves are flat and grey-green, these are round and dark green) and no smell of onions. I must admit that was my first thought. but since I collect Alliums I looked at the flowers and they are not the same.

No, not that either, nor is it Hypoxis (hairy leaves in all species) nor Gagea, the buds are usually reddish, these are green.

Sisyrinchium?

Sysirinchium are not really bulbous plants and again the leaves tend to be flat rather than round.

Could it be an unusual pale yellow Sparaxis, Eric ?  :-\

Hey Eric, Really not sure, but they look really similar to a type of tulip I have in a pot!! I would take a photo, but you know how long that'll take me!! Anyway, they finished about a week ago.  Name is Tulipa urumiensis.  Let me know, I'd love to get something right!!  Lottie  ;D

Yes I think you're right, Tulip Urumiensis looks bang on

Thank-you for the suggestion I grow T.urumiensis and the flower is about 100 times as big as mine which is about the size of your little finger nail!
