We got six inches by the time it stopped @6pm. With the cold night it is still fairly treacherous out the there. The weekly shop will have to wait until mid-day, or tomorrow if it doesn't recede. We are on a gritted bus route but still only have tracks through to the tarmac rather than a proper two car passing surface.

Only started here about an hour ago, but we have already lost the road surface. My lad is in Botley, but he said it all had melted by mid-day. Hope your allotments aren't those we see when we walk into Oxford... they seem to be regularly flooded!

Mine is on Wolvercote Common (aka top end of Port Meadow) - far emough up the meadow to not flood too often, and not too  badly! Though funnily enough I'm pretty sure our next door neighbours have one down off Botley Road.
My garden is smaller than your Rome, but my pilum is harder than your sternum!

Saw those two summers ago when we walked up Port Meadow and back through Jericho, we didn't go to Oxford last Summer for some reason....

All the snow rained away today, lotties a bit of standing water... warm enough.

Froglegs

It's a small world! Since then we've gained a waiting list - for the first time in at least 15 years - so hopefully more plots cultivated, though I will miss snacking on the bramble patches.

Dry but cloudy... but large areas of the site with standing and flowing water....

MervF

Has been quite pleasant here in Poole, a bit cloudy at times but dry and better today than it has been

tricia

Sunny and 11C briefly over midday but very windy.

I think today can be fairly described as "Shite!". Rain, sleet, snow, bitter cold, all falling on ground already saturated. I see flooding ahead....

Ooh! thanks for the reminder...

I had to drive my OH for his vaccination today.  A 30 mile round trip. There is a lot of water about.  Quite often had to go into the centre of the road to avoid huge puddles.
The fields are very wet, and in several places really muddy water was cascading off fields onto the road.
The water table is high too.  This is good because it means that the well water we use on the allotments will top up faster during the summer.
But the soil sure is soggy.  And the nutrients will have been leeching out of the soil.

saddad

Dry bright and sunny today, not even windy!
Lottie time!

saddad

Not raining now but very cold....

Digeroo

Bit of a heatwave here, got up to 13C until rain stopped play and it deluged.

saddad

We had a downpour too but looking promising outside now.

tricia

Blustery winds, the sky various shades of grey - but at least it's dry and mild (10C).
