Who grows it? can it be used as an eater?  I know it is a cider apple but it also says it is a sweet cider apple that can stay on the tree until past xmas. I am not keen on tramp juice, but seeing as it has such a wonderful name I might get one if it is edible, although it could be useful just to juice.

If it makes a rich, strong cider (plenty of sugar turns to high alcohol cider) with a "woody" aroma, that would suggest also a lot of tannins, ie bitter components.  Gives cider depth and body, but could be less pleasant in an eating apple.  Just saying what I read from the description, I have not tried it myself.  They do however describe it as dual purpose which is encouraging.  Maybe you can get your hands on one to try, Ace, before you get a tree.

Dual purpose might mean cider & cooking (always the cynic)...

Cheers.
With a microholding you always get too much or bugger-all. (I'm fed up calling it an allotment garden - it just encourages the tidy-police).

The simple/complex split is more & more important: Simple fertilisers Poor, complex ones Good. Simple (old) poisons predictable, others (new) the opposite.

I don't mind cooking especially if they last as long as stated.

Love the name! Sounds a bit Scottish?
It describes what happens to the waste band -  but what effect does it have on the brain??
