Happy  Belated Birthday

Thank you.  It turned out to be the first utterly wet, grey day since we moved here at the beginning of October.

We took the dogs out for their favourite circuit - just over an hour and mostly off lead - and managed to stay fairly dry till the last few hundred metres when the heavens opened.  Good rub down for them and showers for us before heading off to the coast in search of moules frites for a celebratory lunch.   Duly found and consumed in the Bistro du Port at La Faute-sur-Mer and then a drive down to the Point which is on the opposite side of the bay to La Rochelle but too wet to get out and explore or take photos.  We'll go back when it's dry and sunny and take the dogs as there are good stretches of sand for them to f rollick.

Today is much lighter and brighter so we're about to set up my shiny new weather station to measure wind speeds and direction, temps and rain which are going to be very different here form central Belgium.
