An alternative to ON SPEED is Tiscali Accelerator, free, altho you have to be a member. Faster than dial-up, not as fast as broadband. They don't advertise it, but then they don't advertise there day time tariffs, either.....£5 a month and £8 a month 8am to 6pm.

I am with BT Internet Broadband and think it is fantastic.  Believe we pay something like £15 a month but it is so very quick, it;s worth it!

Yes, Marianne, I use broadband up at the library, free to surf but no posting allowed, and I can do up there in an hour that takes half a day on this machine. Fell out with BT sometime ago...I reported a fault..they went on and on about charging me £75 if  it was my equipment at fault...it turned out that half the street was down.

I know what you are saying Ken.  I have had problems in the past with them too, but all seems OK right now.

I  believe you can get broadband with other telephone providers or am I wrong ?

All the ISP's re-sell from B.T, the alternative being cable, which has just arrived in my little town, but government and local offices are being hooked up first. Down to price and service in the end. Tiscali (again) is best value broadband and ISP Review website is useful.

We used to "be with" Tiscali about 2 years ago but had problems.  They took more money than we had air time... So we got rid of them.  But I suppose you can have problems with any of them  ::) ???
