Allotments 4 All

i was given a load of squash plants earlier this year after my own got hit by frost and all have come up as butter nut but this one i dont know about so dont know when to harvest or anything

if you know the name of it i can then do some research unfortunately the bloke who gave them me i havent seen for a while

One of the Hubbards?.... It's defintiely not Bon-BOn, Turks Turban or one of the other Buttercup-types as it lacks the distinctive flower scar,   Musquee de Provence is that colour when it's young, but it will ripen orange, I'd also expect the ribbing to be more pronounced but it's been an odd year for squashes.... it could be a Queensland Blue.... if you wait a bit it will do one of two things, turn orange (Musquee de Provence) or get a lot bigger (Queensland Blue)

okay thanks alot i will leave it be as its not doing any harm hopefully i will see him soon and find out for def but atleast i have an idea now

It does look like Musquee de Provence. Are the leaves quite soft like the butternuts, or more scratchy?

couldnt tell you at the minute as ive not touched that one i have moved all the leaves to expose the butternuts to some sun but this one is not surrounded by leaves so i have left it to do as it wants i shall check next time im up
