Allotments 4 All

Tis the season. Let the feasting begin. My traditional xmas brekkie of a whiskey and a walnut was forsaken this year. Instead it was freshly made multigrain bread and my own version of Normandy butter. Really nice when you crunch the sea salt crystals.

Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for me!  First drink of the day is traditionally the "Toast to Absent Friends" at 12.  Pretty much all down hill after that.

Scrambled egg and a couple of rashers of crispy smoked streaky bacon here.
My Nan adored Normandy butter and used to always bring some home from holiday, it must have been the salt that made it special for her as she loved Welsh Butter too.
Good on you for your brekkie choice Ace, does sound delish.

Well from now on in it's cut and come again day, melton mowbray, scotch eggs, gammon for the anti fish brigade, salmon, prawns, crab and lobster for those with a refined palate, First glass of wine and pinched Barriedalenick's toast. Nice touch there Barrie. We shall degenate later with a bit of a hoolie when the musicians arrive for a session of lively music, indispersed with party tricks. My usual which needs a plate of sprouts and a box of matches. Then port and cheese for the lightweights and some single malt and shortbread for the real drinkers amongst us.

Tomorrow will be another busy eating and drinking day when all the Morris dancing sides meet at a pub for the traditional Boxing day danceout. Followed by a music session in the pub where if you don't sing you get the next round in.

Breakfast, a bit of salad, a sausage cut into rings and fried topped with scrambled egg and OH had porridge with apples from the garden and Jostaberries.

Oh we do that too at 12 - 'Absent friends and family'! - and this year we were toasting with some of them 'present' via Skype.  Lovely!  Port in our case and also the first drink of the day.

Bacon and egg for breakfast followed by Buck's Fizz a couple of hours later. 

After a frantic night of trying to finish a present for my brother (totally underestimated how long a full set of crocheted polyhedral dice would take, and didn't end up completing them after over a week of working on them), I had about 3 hours sleep and woke at 10am.

What with having gift-giving at my parents' at 11 and lunch at 2 there was no point eating a big breakfast and I didn't have time anyway, so I had a slice of toast and a yogurt.

Very boring, I know!
