May get some plums this year, tree has done nothing for years and nearly forgot what it was. Little Cox apple tree doing OK.  Bramley apple having a rest as was loaded last year and pear tree rubbish, that was good last year. Trees all bought from Morrisons (10 years ago, I don't believe the years have gone so quickly), and the Bramley apple is big and normally brilliant.  I did put grease bands round the trees this year so maybe that has helped the plum.  Gooseberries not too good, even though I weeded round it, put horse manure around it and netted it.  Last year it was great.  Not sure if I will get any raspberries this year as OH was very enthusiastic with his cutting back, and no red currants as they were cut right back.  Black currants seem OK.  Funny old year.  If the storm ruins my plums I will cry. Woke up at 5.30 am (which is very unusual for me) so excited and went to the allotment early morning to pick some more strawberries.  So exciting. Got a final demand from the Council about paying for my allotment, which annoyed me as I paid it 3 days after I got the bill, and checked today and the money has gone out of my account.  Think they are chasing the wrong people. What is doing well at the moment for you. I only have strawberries to pick, mint and everlasting spinach, and loads of long grass and marestail.  :BangHead:

I rather miss my plum tree which finally died of that thing that turns the leaves blue.  But I tend to buy a punnet when in Evesham each year.   I am concerned if I plant another plum it will simply get the bug as well.

Apples not as good as last year when we had loads.    But the raspberries and strawberries and redcurrants are looking very promising.

Sounds as if your council is in a bit of a muddle.   I should not be too annoyed about the payment, having working in accounts mistakes easily happen.  They normally occur about 4.30 in the afternoon.   :BangHead:   I had a job for years when I only worked for 5 hours a day, and quite frankly I do not think I did any more when I changed to full time.
