I hope I have spelled it correct! Don't know about anyone else but I'm rather down with this weather. I was wondering if any expert flower growers could tell me what will happen if I don't remove all the growth off my Dahlias leaving just the strongest and best. Will they just get multi heads? Taa xx

I am assuming you have planted a tuber rather than a cutting.

On the tuber there can be a number of eyes which in turn can potentially become individual plants so the answer is; Yes!

It is these you remove to take cuttings ie.each of these will produce an individual plant.

If each of these stems if left on the tuber these will form more side shoots so you end up with a very bushy bush.

So thinning these out can be an advantage as there is a limit to what the root system will sustain.
