I see folk mentioning this type...what's the difference between this and other artichokes?

Ps should artichokes be sprouting by now?

As far as I can see, it's a variety of Jerusalem artichoke with a smoother skin (easier to peel).  The ones I planted are not up yet (planted in March) but there is one growing wild from last year and it has just sprouted. So shouldn't be long.
2012 - Snow in February, non-stop rain till July. Blight and rot are rife. Thieving voles cause strife. But first runner beans and lots of greens. Follow an English allotment in urban France: http://roos-and-camembert.blogspot.com

thank you. I think it was JayB on here who gave me a bit....hubby moved path and I though we had lost them and two had grown from under paving last year....so hoping they reappear and I can move them!

First of mine just up yesterday. Fuseau are less knobbly and branched than 'standard' Jas, and also high yielding. Considered to be one of the best varieties.
