Plastering stilts

Has anybody used plastering / decorating stilts?  How much should you spend on a pair as prices vary from £59 - £450 a pair.  I was looking at around the £100 mark as I wouldn't be using them daily.

Have they saved you much time?
Have you had an accident on them?

Many thanks for opinions.

Have you considered 2 planks and 6 milk crates?

Not sure that the Elves (as in Elf and safety) would approve of the milk crates.

My OH bought a multi ladder thing, which basically has several sections so can be made into all sort of shapes including a flat walkway.  Used to for wallpapering  it was very good.  Only downside was that it takes a while to move each section around and you have to be very careful of your fingers.

I've not used them but lately I've been doing a lot of boarding out and getting it skimmed - all of the plasterers have used platforms. I'd worry about them putting you too far away from the ground to pick stuff up. I use props, platforms and a makita screw gun. Are you thinking of using them for plastering or something else?

Considering using them for plastering.  I have used step ladders, and platforms.  Multi ladder is a pain in the ass on stairs and is also heavy bulky to move around.  Just wondering about these so I don't have to keep moving stuff around to try and make jobs a little easier.  Bending down wont be a problem as the plaster table would be a bit higher.  Stilt height would be 18-30".
