My Couve Tronchuda has gone to flower any ideas why this is the first year I have grown this so I am somewhat stumped

What variety is it? I tried a Portugese variety a couple of years ago which did the same thing. It was too late in the season for it to set seed, and it didn't survive the frosts, unfortunately.
