I got one yesterday and the flipping thing won't charge.I didn't buy the fast charger from Amazon but Pc World sold me one  for almost £20 
been on the phone to kindle support and told to wait even longer.
The things been charging all night 

Hold down the power button for anything up to 30 seconds..

Thanks Nick I've already tried that,The very helpful kindle support phoned me and suggested the same.I have to leave it charging and they're phoning back in an hour.I have to say it's very good service,they are very patient with me but so far it still won't charge

Well a replacement is on it's way and while I'm sad the thing didn't work I have to say Amazon/Kindle supprt is absolutely brilliant 

Just spoken to our fees admin lady here and she is loving her Kindle Fire HD so when you do get it you should enjoy it!
