Bolting the doors, and staying up all night

The lovely curtain lady nearly got broken into the other night, but they just broke the lock and didn't get in.  As it is locked and shuttered they may have thought it didn't only contain needles and sewing machines. Last night they tried again, these burglars must be very stupid, as they broke into the butchers shop, not the local ciggie and drink shop.  Anyway as we live near the lovely alley, she said I must have heard something, but was in bed asleep at 10 pm with a headache, after all that digging.  Apparently they have broken into a load of places round here, but luckily or unluckily, they seem to get the wrong shops, maybe the hairdressers next.  Anyway as I care about the neighbours have told the Chinese takeaway, the food may be cold, and all the neighbours, so will be on alley watch tonight.  The cats are boody useless, wish I had Basil Brush back, my lovely gentle Alastian dog, but they would not know that. OH is just outside securing the curtain ladies workshop, but be a long night tonight, but don't suppose they will come back. My rolling pin is ready, so if I arrested will not be on here anymore.  I blame the lovely container lorries as we never had this trouble before.

Take care with that rolling-pin!

A camera, a mobile phone and a torch might be useful but use them in safety. A person is obviously more precious than property.

It's quite unsettling when you think there are no-gooders lurking about. My elderly parents live opposite to us and I'm often sticking my head out of the window when I hear a noise down below in the street after midnight.

Fortunately it's mostly foxes wandering up and down in the dark.

Keep safe.
