I Keep getting this error message....

Please try again. If you come back to this error screen, report the error to an administrator.

Also the site is soooo slow in opening pages..

I keep being told the site does not exist, particularly if I try and refresh a page which has been held during hibernation.   I have to open a new tab and go from there.

Looking into it now, bit perplexes at the moment!

Thanks for looking into it.  The site has been very slow at times for a week now and yesterday I got the message that the server is under high stress three times within ten minutes.  There were 105 guests and 15 members listed at the time.

I have had to start logging in again but I am finding that I have to do that on other programmes too

Hi Dan - seems loads better today but still slow at times...

And why do I get message abut Nginx.  What is it?

Sometimes I try and post a message and get a screen from Nginx which is a real drag since I
then loose the message I have typed.

Seems soooo much better this afternoon.. superfast in all aspects.. thank you

lots of traffic - yes it is slow, but so far no error messages.

I got the gate error message today lots of times.  First time that has happened. now working normally.

'Gate Error' for me also first thing this morning.

18 seconds for the reply page to open! Just wanted to say yes - it's painfully slow tonight!

Mine keeps timing out... I have tried to add a running extremely slow comment four times now without success... lets hope this goes through..

I've some time to perform a more thorough investigation today, hopefully I'll apply a bigger better sticking plaster today.

'Gate Error' again this morning (just cleared) but when it is working seems fine to me, not at all slow.

Dan I think it might be a server cron job that is causing the problem ..maybe a stats programme ... I have found around midnight this happens daily recently.

The other place to look for bad performance is check which search engines are crawling the site there are a couple that I had to ban on my server they were not search engines like google but data aggregators for private networks.

On a final note if you are on a shared server or VPS it might be nothing to do with yours but another site consuming all the resources.

I've also had the gate error messages and have been unable to open pages. At the moment seems fine. Sorry no techie so unable to offer any advice but I'm bereft when I can't get on the site.

Niginx is the web server that dishes out A4A pages and it seems that it seems the 502 bad gateway messages is related to the server not being able to connect to PHP (which is the scripting language A4A is written in). The slowness could be related to this issue or it could be a something entirely different - not really my area. I'm sure Dan will sort this soon as he has access to the lgs to tell him what is going on...  Isn't IT fun!!!.
