Steve.

I received an email from JBA seed potatoes yesterday, warning of some changes due to the poor weather. The important part is just below in italics..

QuoteDue to unexpectedly poor weather, we will be unable to accept any orders until the harvest has been completed. We expect many varieties to be in short supply and for prices to increase as the season goes on

This means it's probably going to get very expensive for next season.

I wonder if or when we have a perfect growing season they will lower the prices again,as they will then produce more potatoes than they can sell,i doubt it very much.

Will have to keep an eye out on when you can order thrn order ASAP. I think it will be a 5/10% price increase

Is this a good time to start storing some of this year's crop to plant out next year?

I am registered on the JBA site.   No email to me.   Anyone else received one?    Thanks for posting.  Wonder which seed potatoes will be unavailable.

I have received the catalogue from the firm I use, same varieties as before also same price 2.5kg from 1.90p, 25kg from 14.45p. I planted 8 varieties this year, so far a reasonable crop considering the weather conditions.

What sort have you grown.
My Casablanca and Pixie have been very good.   I hope to grow them next year.
