Allotments 4 All

I think this should be easy for someone but I just wanted to be sure.
I grow Hurst green shaft and also have a few seeds of the "heritage variety" Alderman which I want to grow for seed to build up the numbers.
If I grow them on the same allotment will they cross with each other and turn into something else or will they stay pure?
Probably should know the answer to this but embarassed to say I don't

There are no crossing worries.  It happens very rarely.  Much rarer than crosses in beans or tomatoes.  Natural mutations in peas are more common than crosses and both are very rare.

With peas you only need a little distance between two varieties to make sure the plants won't grow into each other's space which makes seed harvest trickier to do.  If they are far enough away from each other to prevent seed mixing at harvest time, you are set.

Thanks Galina I was also wondering about cross pollination of peas..
