Allotments 4 All

Well..I've got tiny mystery 'plant/weed' that appear on fine turf that I've tried and tried to get identified. Suggestion from 'higher above' was 'spray/kill' it but before it happens it might be wise to have checked before its been blasted away.. ::) I work in the area that some other wild life and plants that are precious so 'blasting' without knowing is big no no.

I know it belongs to Caryophyllaceae or 'campion' family as it has distinctively similar flowers as mouse ear chickweed.
But what is baffling me and somebody else that is in this task with me..we haven't seen this plant on the area before...and the plant is not prostrate but forms flowering carpet from tiny individual rosette plants that can be pulled apart. And when I'm talking about tiny..each individual plant is no more than inch tall and half'n inch wide and flowers about 2mm across.
I've tried to get some photos of the plants so structure can be seen and easiest was floating them in water..so this is not aquatic plant!
We had few years ago plant species  listed and it doesn't appear on the list and getting visit again from right people takes time..by which time somebody might have done the 'damage'.. ::)
Any help would be apreciated that cuts time of me spending hours going through info on net..pretty please.. ;D

It looks like a Cerastium - same genus as chickweed, but one with bigger flowers. Possibly C alpinum - which is an upland species from northern England and Scotland - but I can't tell for sure.
