I'm building a shed on my allotment, and i was thinking it would look well cool to do this (err dont you think) anyone done this before and any advice on how to do it, any help would be great as I haven't got a clue how its done, at a guess i think i would have to put some membrane down on the wood, then chicken wire, and support is along the way with strips of batten so it can "grip" but that's just off the top of my head, or am i off my rocker???

When God blesses you with a multitude of seeds double  the blessing by sharing your  seeds with other folks.

try the library - "Garden Projects" or similar. One I got had plans for a turfed roof.

OK I have some idea of what i am going to do now, weight shouldn't be an issue with the roof, as i built the shed myself out of sturdy timber and will reinforce it so it can easily take the weight

Now now lads ;D
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

Or..... You could strip nekkid and paint your self in live yoghurt, then roll around on the roof spreading the yoghurt all over the roof as you go.
It won't take long before something happens. :D

Buckets of dilute cow muck flung with gay abandon all over your shed.   If no moss grows, at least the burglers will think twice ! ! !  :o   Cheers,     Tony.

Going by the mess outside my front door the birds love the moss for their nests. They take some and drop the rest.

Does it only grow on rotting wood, it has wherever I have seen it growing in the wild.

Cow muck mixed with milk and painted on is used to disguise new mortar on old buildings, so that would be a good start. Moss regrows from tiny fragments, so little bits of roof moss scattered over it would get it started as long as they don't wash off.
