Reminds me of those wonderful(not) days on the trawlers in the 60's!

Shame, can't watch it as it is 'blocked' in France on copyright grounds!

  OMG!!!! The power of the sea is beyond belief.  How on earth did they manage to film that i hope they all survived.   Brilliant to watch.

           Dodgy climate, just glad that I live on top of one of the two hills in Leicestershire, :)

When I was very little, at morning assembly when there was news of a ship in trouble or one that had gone down, we used to sing 'Eternal Father, Strong to Save' and say a prayer.

And yes, this footage reminded me of that all those years ago.

The Navy certainly earn their corn coping with those conditions.

Reminded me of last winter on Dungeness Beach,ok the sea wasnt anywhere near as wild but it was fun watching it from the comfort of me shelter....but then.

I then sat down and appearing around the corner of my tent was Bullet,my mate up the beach,his dog arrived and just stood there looking at me.
I looked around the corner and could see some huge waves building which would have washed us off,in an instant
I grabbed all my gear and shoved it up the next shingle ridge to safety.



I turned around and Bullet had gone,I legged it up to Bobs tent to see him sound asleep with Bullet sat on guard.

I shouted to bob and he awoke with a start,I said c,mon mate lets get your kit moved QUICKLY.
He has Emphysema and whilst cuddled up under his tent the cold had caused his lungs to collapse,so with a bit of a shove I got him and his kit up the ridge to safety.
After some furious massaging on his back he was feeling better .....pheeeeew !!!!!

anyway,sorry I waffled on but seeing the waves reminded me of last winter and how Bullet saved the day.
