Allotments 4 All

Can anyone advise me about garden/plot irrigation systems and someone who can install same? All google comes up with is DIY systems ie Hoselock or rather posh systems which mainly seem to be based in the home counties. Just south of the Humber Bridge doesn't cut it ::)
Now I'm struggling with my back- blue badge and all that- watering cans and even hoses are getting a bit beyond me.
I'm quite prepared to pay my way, I'm not touting for a freeby but would really appreciate some sensible advice. Thanks everyone  :)

The plumbers have an electrically actuated valve,  I fitted one in a hose route to my greenhouse and led the electrical lead through the wall of my shed and it is controlled by an electrical timer switch.   If you could find someone with an engineering bent, I'm sure he/she could cobble you something along the same lines.     Cheers,     Tony.

Thanks for that. I was hoping to get something that would go into the raised beds and the poly. Perhaps running a long hose around the outside of the plot would work with long runners off it. But it would be nice to get it buried if possible but I'm afraid of too many connections and making sure they don't leak which is why I need to find someone with a bit of know how.

something like this what you need very simple much cheaper then the normal type buried irrigation system.

Mains timer, feeding a mains to 12v power pack, operating a 12v vehicle windscreen washer motor, ( halford about £7 or locla scrappy even less).  Halfords/B&Q etc also have miles of clear 1/4" plastic tubing, and you can get push on T pieces etc, and  im sure  you can get a whole roll of tube (50 or 100 M) cheap, with a bit of research.  Thats how  i would do it.
